Jake Ward appointed as Director of Junior Football & Men's Head Coach 

 

Lower Hutt City AFC is pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Ward as our Director of Junior Football and Men's 1st Team Coach.

Jake is a familiar face around the city of Lower Hutt with experience playing for Wainuiomata, along with playing and coaching at Stop Out Sports Club in the men’s and juniors space.

He moves to Lower Hutt following his experience at Dunedin based club Roslyn Wakari AFC, where he was the Football Development Director, and served as Southern United’s Girls National Youth League Coach.

“I’m really looking forward to my time with Lower Hutt City AFC, and I can’t wait to meet the club members, new and returning players, and supporters. Jeremy and Luke alongside others have done a great job at setting the club up for the future, which lays a great foundation for us to build together on. I’m excited to get started!” - Jake

Luke Searle departs as Director of Junior Football

 

Regretfully we announce the departure of Luke Searle as Director of Junior Football. Luke is taking the opportunity to see the world as he embarks on his O.E, where he will catch up with is brother Jamie who is currently playing professionally the UK, and supporting his partner Maddy who is a member of the  Silver Ferns squad.

We would like to thank Luke for his significant contribution to Lower Hutt City AFC during his time with us.  His energy and enthusiasm to the  club and its members leaves us in a great place moving forward.   Luke we wish you every success, and you will always be welcome back at Lower Hutt City AFC.

We have news…. BIG news! Fantails are coming to Fraser Park 

We are absolutely fizzing with excitement to announce Fraser Park will host a Pīwakawaka / Fantails Hub for Term 4!!

Fantails is a programme designed to attract new female players aged 4–12 years old to the beautiful game through sessions focused on helping girls make friends, having fun, improving their skills and being active through football.

Vacancies – Staff WantedCapital Premier, Capital 2, Director of Football.

 

Applications now open for positions in the above three areas, here is your chance to excel.  We are in a new phase within our club if you feel you can make a difference and have the suitable qualifications don’t hesitate to make contact.

 

This challenge is very exciting and we will need people that are committed, and  prepared to drive the club in our new phase, you should be skilled in man management as well as having the technical ability to carry out the project, B License is a minimum requirement for our Capital Premier team, while Capital 2 will have more flexibility depending on the successful applicant, we have scope to help develop people in all of the available roles. 

 

The club has excellent facilities that include the use of a floodlit turf and grass training pitches and an indoor turf also a fully functioning weights gym as a Founding Member of Fraser Park Sportsville, exciting times begin.

 

If successful you will have the full support of a dedicated committee.

2021 Winter season registrations NOW OPEN!

We welcome all new and existing members to register for the 2021 winter football season now.

You can register your child on MyComet with the username and password you had from last season. If you can not remember this then click the MyComet link below, or check out the Join Us tab above for more details.

We are holding a further registration evening at the Ricoh Sports Centre - Fraser Park Sportsville - Thursday 11th February, 6.30pm.

Feel free to come along and register then (bring your username and password with you to make the process a little easier if you can).

If you know of anyone else who would like to play, then let all your friends about the awesome coaching we have available, not to mention the best facilities in the Hutt Valley.

Lower Hutt City AFC gains provisional approval as Talent Development Programme (TDP) club

Exciting new opportunities in the junior and youth space in 2020!

Lower Hutt City AFC in partnership with the Wellington Phoenix Academy is delighted to announce that we will be running a Talent Development Programme (TDP) for 13-17 yr old boys & girls, along with a Skill Centre (SKC) for 9-12 yr old boys & girls.

These programmes will be based at Fraser Park Sportsville and run for all four school terms in x4 8 week blocks. The programmes will be managed by the Phoenix Academy coaches and focus on building game relevant techniques and skills.

The TDP programme is for LHCAFC registered players only as there is a competition element to this programme on the weekends. This will enable Lower Hutt City AFC to compete in the newly formed Capital Development Leagues in U13, U15 (dual banded to include 14 and 15 year olds) and U17 from 2020.

The SKC programme is open to all players from around the Hutt Valley region, you are welcome to join the programme and continue to play for another club. Priority places will go to LHCAFC registered players first.

If you are not currently registered to LHCAFC but would be interested in the programmes then we would love to hear from you.

The costs of the programmes are currently being finalised but will be extremely competitively priced in the market and offer discount to those registered with LHCAFC.

Lower Hutt City AFC goes green

Lower Hutt City have gone green following the visit of the Lite Club team to the clubs Gym. The team installed new recycling bins in the club kitchen and provided us with some great info on how we can save money on our energy bills and reduce our carbon footprint.

So far Lite Club have helped over 1,163 clubs across New Zealand, have saved 6,242 Tonnes of CO2 emissions and helped save clubs over $6,925,324.

Any clubs in the wellington area who are yet to go through this process get in touch as it is completely FREE!!

Yellows selected for Phoenix National League Sqauds

Congratulations to two of our Central league players who have been selected in this years ISPS Handa Premiership Wellington Phoenix FC U20's and U17's National League squads. Pranay Singh (U20's) and Forbes Nyatsanza (U17's) have been selected for the Phoenix ISPA Hands Premiership and National Youth League squads respectively.

Also to our own Steve Coleman, LHC's Men's Central League coach on his appointment as the Wellington Phoenix U17's Assistant Coach for the National Youth League.

Lower Hutt City AFC launch Community Programme

Lower Hutt City AFC is delighted to announce the unveiling of our Community programme logo This is a great capture for the club.

The Community Programme will initially provide low decile schools within the Hutt Valley with FREE football and fundamental skills sessions over the course of the school year. With additional elements being added as the year progresses, so keep an eye out on our website and social media for the latest updates. It will officially launch with Koraunui School in Stokes Valley next week and we certainly are looking forward to working closely with all the schools to see where we can further promote a healthy, active and happy lifestyle to the students.
